The Ochsner Health department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of residency program director. This is an exciting opportunity to be the program director at the largest and longest accredited anesthesiology training program in the state of Louisiana. Our program is a mid-size, categorical program with 13 residents/year (52 residents total). The program director would be responsible for the education and administration of the residency program and would be supported by a full-time program coordinator, 2 associate program directors, and assistant program directors and the vice chair of education and faculty development to which he/she would directly report. There is 40% non-clinical time for the position. Applicants must meet the following ACGME requirements for eligibility:
1. must include specialty expertise and at least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience, or qualifications acceptable to the Review Committee
2. must include current certification in the specialty for which they are the program director by the American Board of Anesthesiology or specialty qualifications that are acceptable to the Review Committee
3. must demonstrate ongoing academic achievements in anesthesiology, including publications, the development of educational programs, or the conduct of research
4. The program must demonstrate retention of the program director for a length of time adequate to maintain continuity of leadership and program stability.
