At our current complement (24 residents), 40% of the PDs time will be protected for programmatic efforts. The remaining 60% of the PD’s efforts will be clinical.

The Department of Anesthesia is housed in the HealthPlex for Advanced and Surgical Patient Care, a 476,000 square foot, state-of-the-art surgical inpatient tower, featuring:
- 24 surgical suites, including 6 hybrid-capable operating rooms
- Eight minor procedure rooms
- 16 emergency treatment rooms and expansion to 5 trauma bays
- Level 1 Trauma Center
- Pediatric Emergency Department

Program Director Responsibilities The program director must have responsibility, authority, and accountability for: administration and operations; teaching and scholarly activity; resident recruitment and selection, evaluation, and promotion of residents, and disciplinary action; supervision of residents; and resident education in the context of patient care.

Qualifications:
- Possess specialty expertise and at least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience, or qualifications acceptable to the Review Committee.Current certification in the specialty for which they are the program director by the American Board of Anesthesiology or by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology, or specialty qualifications that are acceptable to the Review Committee.
- Demonstrate ongoing clinical activity.
- Must demonstrate ongoing academic achievements in anesthesiology, including publications, the development of educational programs, or the conduct of research.
- A valid PA Medical License or the ability to obtain one is required
